The Reference is once again home to three Sitecore Most Valuable Professionals

February 3, 2022 | Lazlo Cootmans

Three Sitecore experts at The Reference have been named Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in the technology and ambassador categories by Sitecore®, the global leader in digital experience management software.

Bart Verdonck, DevOps engineer & architect, and Gert Gullentops, senior .NET developer, are two of the 141 Technology MVPs. Kris Verheire, solution architect, is one of the 63 Ambassadors worldwide to be named a Sitecore MVP this year.

Selected for quality, quantity, and impact

Recognizing professionals within the Sitecore community who actively apply their talent and expertise to help others best utilize Sitecore products to deliver premier customer experiences, the MVP program is now in its 16th year. Of more than 16,000 certified developers and over 30,000 active community participants, the 235 MVPs are truly an elite group. This year’s MVPs were selected for the quality, quantity, and impact of the contributions they made in 2021, including the sharing of product expertise and mastery of the Sitecore platform to support both partners and customers.

Helping clients achieve business goals

“These three MVP titles are a testament to the hard work of our team and their dedication to the Sitecore community,” says Philip Achten, Sitecore partner manager at The Reference. “Through Sitecore’s technologies, many of our clients are able to achieve business goals and create added value for their customers. It’s our mission to help them get the most out of the platform. These MVP titles underscore our expertise with Sitecore solutions and motivate us to keep making a difference within the Sitecore community.”

The Reference was a Sitecore pioneer when it introduced the technology in Belgium back in 2006 and has continued working with it over the past 16 years. Coincidentally, this means that The Reference has been working with Sitecore for as long as they have been running the MVP program.

“The Sitecore community is one of our greatest assets. It’s a highly collaborative environment where members freely share their knowledge and insights across numerous channels and at events,” said Dave O’Flanagan, Sitecore chief product officer. “Sitecore MVPs stand out as community leaders who are dedicated to helping others build greater digital experiences for their organizations and customers. They are an invaluable resource and important part of the Sitecore user experience, for which we are truly grateful.”
