De Wever has years of experience in the telecom, publishing and retail sectors. His previous employers include Proximus, Standaard Uitgeverij, Uitgeverij Lannoo, Standaard Boekhandel - Club and Samsung, where he was Head of Digital Experience & Advertising for the Benelux. De Wever is already a familiar face at The Reference. Between 2014 and 2016 he developed digital strategies for the company, as well as leading digital projects for large clients.
He is enthusiastic about his new role: “This team and I share the same DNA. It was obvious that, sooner or later, we would work together once more. I want to achieve this with an effective marketing and communications strategy which focuses on the renewed B2B customer journey”.
John De Wever succeeds Bart Roofthooft, who becomes Global Head of Marketing Automation & CRM at Emakina Group, the listed group to which The Reference belongs.
